House of Hope Mission & Vision

MISSION of The Houserville UMC House of Hope

To go make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

VISION of The Houserville UMC House of Hope

We believe that small things done with great love will change the world.  God has given us a vision to transform the community through worship and the arts.  This transformation will be made possible as we invite the people of Houserville and State College into relationship with Jesus Christ and give away to the world what God has given us, extending God’s love to all.  The House of Hope (HOH) is called to be a church that places first priority upon those who do not yet know Jesus or attend any church.  Imagine a ragtag collection of surrendered and transformed people who love God and others. HOH has yielded to the reality that this is not about us, but all about Jesus. We are transfixed by His story and His heart for our community. We are seed-throwers and fire-starters, hope-peddlers and grace-givers, risk-takers and dreamers, young and old. We will link arms with anyone who tells the story of Jesus.  We will work to empower the poor, strengthen the weak, embrace the outcast, and seek the lost. We will transform the community through worship and the arts by: connecting together, serving together, growing together, and living a life of faith together in relevant and authentic ways. Our community will change because God sent us.
